"A palestinian suspected of raping a young Christian girl was forcefully freed by Armed "Tanzim" militants" by Hanan Shlein:

A young Christian girl from near Bethlehem was violently raped at her home a few months ago by a Moslem Tanzim fighter. After her family complained, the rapist was arrested. He was quickly freed, however, after his brother and other Tanzim fighters arrived at the police station where he was held. This incident is just one example out of many, of Moslem violence against the Christian community in that area.  These incidents prove the accusations Minister Danny Naveh made two days ago in the Knesset, that Arafat's forces are involved in violence against Christians.  Naveh's accusations caused a tumult amongst Arab MK's who termed him a racist and an inciter against Arafat and the Palestinian Authority.

After examination of the facts, Ma'ariv found that only the urgent intervention by the Latin Patriarch in Jerusalem, Michel Sabah, convinced Arafat to command his forces to prevent Moslem gangs from harassing and tormenting the Christian community, after their apathetic attitude towards these Moslem criminals.  Patriarch Sabah informed Arafat that if the attacks on Christians did not stop, he would remove his office from East Jerusalem to Beit Sahur in solidarity with the Christians.  This was the threat which convinced Arafat to act.  (Christian) residents in the Bethlehem area do not dare to discuss these matters - the Christians out of fear, the Moslems out of embarrassment. 

In conversations with local residents, we heard about two young Christian women from Beit Jala who were murdered by Fatah Tanzim forces. A Palestinian source told us that because the Christians have no protection in the area, young Moslems use this to harass them.  "Everyone knows that if Moslems are harmed there will be an immediate violent reaction by this clan or that family of the attacked women. But the Christians languish under the "good" will of the Authority which is mainly Moslem anyway, and it is that fact which encourages these Moslem youths to violence," continued the Palestinian source.

Another example of how young Moslems harass the Christian community is the behaviour of Shabab activists towards a young Christian couple who got married at the beginning of the Intifada.  Fatah activists had given an order that celebrations were to be muted. The Christian couple nevertheless decided to hold their wedding in a hall not far from Rachel's Tomb. The Shabab-Fatah activists arrived at the hall and demanded an end to the celebrations. When the families refused, the activists started shooting at Israeli forces stationed at Rachel's Romb. The
Israeli soldiers returned fire - and the wedding celebration naturally came to an abrupt end!

Because of the violent harassments, the Christian community is very careful not to speak against the PA. "Arafat respects the Christians and cares about their welfare. We are talking about gangs of criminals. Most of the Moslems community lives in peace with the Christian community in the town and Arafat also deals with any problem which happens here," Bethlehem residents told us. They emphasized that since the Patriarch's intervention, there has been a decline in attacks against Christians.

[Reactions: Arab MK's again attacked the revelations rather than the violent behaviour and harassment towards the Christians, especially towards Christian women. What does it prove to dismiss the allegations with a callous wave of the hand and comparing Danny Naveh's revelations to Der Stuemer's "collective" incitement against the Jews, or pointing out that there are also Jewish rapists [but they serve prison
sentences and are not freed by their brothers and comrades-in-arms!]. 

No one denies this, but what is being done by Arafat's hooligans to the frightened Christian community is exactly what they perpetrated against Lebanese civilians during Arafat's reign of terror in Lebanon between the years 1970-1983 when the rape of Lebanese girls, mainly Christian but also Moslem, was the name of the game. And let us not forget how Arafat's mass murderers massacred 100,000 innocent Lebanese whilst the Christian world stayed mum, looked the other way, and/or blamed the Israelis! [as the horror films broadcast non-stop by the PA Television Broadcasting Authority which, whilst Christian women are being raped by Moslem Palestinian hooligans, broadcasts very badly acted {and Totally false} "dramas" on the "rape and murder of Palestinian women by Israeli soldiers."
