Help I am confused with Rabbi Sha’ul the hard sayings of Rabbi Paulos and what do you mean by Torah? By Rabbi Simon

Terms:
Yahushua – The true name for Jesus
Torah – These are the first five books in the Bible written by Moses (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy contained in every Christian Bible but vastly ignored by Christians) – Since Torah is instruction in Rabbinic understanding it can encompass all the books up to Malachi including the Renewed Covenant writings, which are also instructions.
Tanach (Scriptures from Genesis to Malachi)
Septuagint (Greek translation of the Tanach done in 275 BC known as the Old Testament)
YHWH - The four letters of the sacred name of God.
We must understand that according to history and the Biblical text the first believers and disciples of King Messiah Yahushua for the first four hundred years were neither Protestant nor Roman Catholic but Nazarene. Torah is the instructions that Yahuweh gave in the first five books of the Bible that is given the name of Torah which the translators and people wrongly translate as “law”. It does not mean “law” but more accurately means “instructions.”
This term can be loosely applied to all sixty six books of the Bible as instructions but please note ALL our doctrines must be found in the first five books and must be validated by at least two prophetic witnesses from the Tanach without which that particular doctrine or teaching is null and void. No one has any right to make doctrine from one line of passage in the New Testament as that is simply the prophetic witness to show the fulfilment of prophecy and continuation of history with the people of Israel to the end of the age.
Yahuweh is restoring and turning back His people from gross idolatry in Churches and those that are left in it will suffer the consequences of their own sin.
Many in churches today live in error and blissful disobedience and yet think they are serving Yahushua the Messiah and living in freedom. This cannot be further from the truth. This will not bless them and it will not be acceptable by Yahushua that they serve a Greek man made title of “Jesus” devoid of Torah, the law of God.
They think that by continuing to celebrate ancient pagan days such as Christmas and Easter and worshipping on the Sunday and the name appellation “Jesus” that as long as their intent is pure that Yahushua will give them a pat on the back. Is this true? In Israel during the days of judges Eli the priest and his sons were also behaving and living like many churches today but ignoring the holy commandments just like today’s most of the church system and just as they occupied an important seat of the priests they thought we are in authority and can abuse our seats and do what we like as we have the covenant thus grace is with us as our Right but they learnt a hard lesson that it turned out against them not with them. The sons of Eli were sleeping around with women and committing what is at best termed whoring for which their penalty was rather severe. Can you sleep around with women? Only the ones you are married to who are your wives, yes wives. You can have one wife or you can have more if you can afford it.
Let me show you what God thought about their blatant whoring and sins.
1 Samuel 2:12 Now the sons of Eli were corrupt; they did not know YHWH.
The word that is used to “know” is the word “Yada” which in Hebrew means to have a relationship with someone it can be used in a variety of other ways. So you can be in a church or monastery but have no knowledge of who you claim to serve. Just reciting fanciful formulas in the various names for “Yahushua” won’t cut the ice and will leave many sore in the mouth and on the day of 2nd resurrection in a state of turmoil when they have to spend their eternity at best with being outside the third Temple and at worst in darkness with weeping and gnashing of teeth. They will not be raised in the first resurrection those that have rejected the Torah of Moses.
Matthew 8:12 "But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.''
These people being priests akin to today’s Christianity were apostate in other words they were in the right place, probably saying the right words but did not have a relationship or regeneration (new birth) so were unsaved which by the way is the state of most of the Christian church today or any Greco/Roman system operating under this guise. God did not say I will forgive them because they are so and so’s son but he said He wanted to kill them for their disobedience.
God does not change means God does not change and cannot mean that He will do a one hundred eighty degrees turn for Christians ignoring their idolatries while Eli’s sons were judged who were the sons of the High Priest. Yah is patient but the judgment is sure and severe.
1 Samuel 2:30 (KJV) "Therefore YHWH Elohim of Israel says: `I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever'; but now God says: `Far be it from Me; for those who honour Me I will honour, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.
What does the word honour and despise here mean?
In the English context the words honour would mean speak favourably of God and to speak unfavourably about God would be understood wrong but in the Hebrew sense the word “honour” actually mans to “obey” God’s holy ordinances and that is the ONLY way we can honour our Father in heaven since he is not physically seen by us.
Anything else outside not obeying the commandments is to dishonour the Father and the Son.
1 John 2:4 (KJV) He who says, "I know Him,'' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Its clear from John that not to obey is dishonouring God, the passage shows us that a person has no knowledge or relationship with God and simply living ignorantly.
This was not only the state of Eli’s household but is also the state of many in the Christian church today. Therefore to not obey God is to dishonour Him plain and simple in the Hebraic sense of the word or to despise Him.
It appears God’s patience had run out and He had reversed what He had said earlier because He was angry and these people did not repent. The choice is God’s to forgive and not man’s so this idea of many Christians that you can do a four line prayer and then do as you please is just fanciful thinking that persists in the church (forgiveness is only possible for true repentant hearts turning back to Torah of Moses). It became so bad with Eli’s household that God said that no sacrifice would save these people from their sin FOREVER. That also includes the sacrifice of Yahushua/Jesus too!!! The same judgment will take place for Christians don’t be deceived.
He basically nullified their salvation and sealed their fate to go to hell and subsequently to the lake of fire because it was by grace and not by Sacrifice that anyone was saved so God emphasised no sacrifice as to say they might bring an offering but they can forget it. Like Eli’s household the Church has time to repent and return to God and His holy ordinances but if they continue in wilful rebellion then there will be no sacrifice for their sin meaning even the sacrifice of the Son of God will be of no use to them because He will tell them depart you evil doers lawless (Torah-less) ones.
Another example
In Ezekiel’s time some elders came to Ezekiel who were sounding very sincere religious and holy like many of today’s Pastors but had put idols in their hearts in other words they were only paying a lip service to God and not living the life He desired. They were quite happy to receive their weekly salaries and continue in blissful ignorance. Sounds like the Pastors and Bishops right?
Ezekiel 14:3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity. Should I let Myself be inquired of at all by them?
Meaning sincerely following an idol of your heart similar to Christmas and Easter will not help you on the Day of Judgment no matter how sincere you were or are. It is wrong to replace the true day of worship with Sunday when God has given His set-apart Sabbath on the 7th day and requires you to worship Him and teach Torah to your children on this day and to serve Him diligently. It is by the commandments that we live in this world so they are our blueprint for living and to have blessings but it is by the blood of Messiah that we have eternal life. The two go hand in hand one does not override the other or cancel one out.
1. What about Acts 15:24 does it not say to circumcise and to keep the law is to try to attain salvation by works?
Answer: This was not to do away with God’s set apart laws but it was only the beginning journey for returning gentiles (ten tribes) who would start to learn things so at the minimum they needed to eat the right foods meaning clean kosher (Bled properly) variety so they could have fellowship with the Yahudim. Pork was still out since the gentiles were being taught how to keep good food laws in Torah. If it was out then, by the same token it is still out today yet many in churches eat pork and think this is ok. No matter how many Pastors tell you its OK to eat it God forbids it so pay heed that you do not walk in your own imaginations.
Eating pork will not cost you your salvation but it will cost you your life here on earth with such diseases as trichinosis and high cholesterol related heart diseases and it may cost you the first resurrection. Once you have these types of diseases what use will you be in the kingdom while you have to be stuck to a hospital and take medication for the rest of your life?
Acts 15:21 "For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.''
There was no such thing as a NEW TESTAMENT ONLY CHURCH. This is a well thought out error that still exits in many churches.
This therefore pleased the Al-Yahud council (Acts 15:22) that they were being taught Torah not to break Yahuweh’s laws and all things would take course in their own time including circumcision of the flesh which being an eternal ordinance was not forced but was required in loving obedience to the Father’s words in heaven when the new believer was comfortable in understanding why it needed to be done.
2. Did not Rabbi Paulos teach “Do not keep the law”?
Answer: Certainly not! He would have been stripped of Pharisaic Judaism if he did since he remained much part of it most of his life.
In fact he said if you do not keep Torah you are accursed so by the same token if you don’t listen to Paul you live under a curse and not blessing.
Galatians 3:10 (KJV) For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.''
AF Nazarene Hebraic Study Scriptures (NT)
Galatians 3:10 For those who are slaves to Ma’aseh Ha Torah (rabbinic customs), are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that does not act on all the things which are written in the scroll of the Torah.
3. Did Paul not teach to eat without asking questions in 1 Corinthians 10:25?
We must remember that the concern or context of this verse is not unclean meat verses clean but ones sacrificed to idols verses not sacrificed to idols 1 Corinthians 10:18, secondly most Christians who perhaps did not look into the early 1st century culture did not grasp this verse will jump to a conclusion automatically that this is regarding meat when it regards something greater. Remember the Yahudi would never need to have a debate on food whether the kosher laws are for them anymore or not as these are clearly explained in Leviticus 11 so why argue over set doctrine? Would you sit with a Chinese and eat snakes fried without asking questions as that is part of their diet?
The context of 1 Corinthians 10 is not a discussion whether the Yahud diet is right or wrong but the context is adultery and idolatry mixing with others so the context is not breaking Torah but how to walk right. Paul starts with a discourse on Israel and its ways (Halacha and how to live) then coming out up to verse 14 says don’t do likewise else we would likely face the same results in other words Christians cannot escape judgment for living idolatrous lives.
Let us correct the mistakes of the KJV translators:
1Co 10:25 (KJV) Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:
AF Nazarene Hebraic Study Scriptures (NT)
First Corint’yah 10:25 Whatever is sold in the market places, that you want to eat, scrutinize, judge and be sure and ask questions for conscience sake:
Paul is using proof texts by admonishing the people from Deuteronomy 32-16-17.
Deuteronomy 32:16-17 They made him jealous with their foreign elohim and angered him with their detestable idols.(17) They sacrificed to demons, which are not elohim— gods they had not known, elohim that recently appeared, elohim your fathers did not fear.
He continues the discourse about idols and idolatry and no mention is made that he is arguing against the prescribed practices of clean foods but he has taken examples from Torah to show how Israel was in Idolatry in the wilderness that these people also were falling into the same camp if not careful.
He is arguing idol worship and what is behind idols (1 Cor 10:20) and then 1 Cor 10:28 makes it clear the argument is still with food offered to idols and that is the whole discussion point.
1 Corinthian 10:27 (KJV) If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
Now let’s do some testing and if a host sets before you a fried snake are you going to eat it with thanksgiving asking no question? How about a skewed rat, what if it is a human being, are you still going to eat and give thanks? Or did you not know that People in different parts of the world do eat these things, so where do we stop? This is how absurd the argument is for eating anything under the sun, we must learn to be faithful and believe and trust God that is what faith (aymuna) is about. If I went to a Muslim home he would never set pork before me yet the Christian is so insensitive that if a Yahudi goes to his home he puts pork before him, you can learn how ignoramus some Christians are in this regard for example such as conferences for Israel where pork is served on the menu yet many Yahudi speakers are invited who simply do not eat unclean. In 1 Corinthian 10:27 it is easy to understand that in context it refers to knowing what is right from wrong and unfortunately here the Christian need to learn a big lesson from their counterparts The Yahudi people.
Let us see what the text really says or did the translators get their translation skewed up!
AF Nazarene Hebraic Study Scriptures (NT)
First Corint’yah 10:27 If any unbeliever invites you, and you be disposed to go; whatever is set before you, scrutinize, judge before eating asking question for conscience sake.
The Yahudim people are right
The black plague was one such incident blamed on The Yahudim in Europe when many Europeans became ill and blamed the Yahudim because the Yahudim did not acquire the diseases due to the clean Torah food laws they were practicing but the reality is that The Yahudim faithfully kept the food laws thus avoiding many illnesses so once again proving that following God's laws has many benefits. Queen Elizabeth I moved her court to Windsor castle to avoid the disease and made it lawful to hang Londoners coming her way.
So the idea that Paul is setting not to ask questions is not about clean versus unclean as a Yahudi would not be seen dead in an unclean meat shop but is about asking questions whether the meat of the said sheep or goat is offered to a heathen Temple or not that is all. Likewise you would not be seen purchasing meat from an English butcher since we know that they mix clean and unclean meats keeping it on the same counter and that in itself makes the whole unclean including the normally clean variety. Please refer to Leviticus 11 for what is clean and unclean.
Note – Muslims actually do bleed the meat correctly and do not offer it to idols first as most believe so the only two shops that meat could be rightly purchased from is a Muslim one and Yahudi one. See article on Can we eat meat from these?
4. Did Paul teach that to keeping Torah is to be accursed?
Paul on Romans 7:1-6: "Freed from the Law"
Paul teaches the benefits and concludes in verse twelve that the Torah is holy so if it is set-apart then we cannot throw it out but live by it as Yahuweh said His Judgements if a man was to obey then he will live by them.
Ezekiel 20:11 (KJV) And I gave them MY STATUTES and showed them MY JUDGMENTS, which, if a man does, he shall live by them.
Paul on 1 Corinthians 8:9: "liberty"
1 Corinthians 8:1 (KJV) Now concerning things offered to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies.
The whole context is still meat offered to idols AND has nothing to do with clean kosher meat verse unclean meats.
Paul on Galatians 3:10-14: "The Law Brings a Curse"
Paul speaks about human governance and human conditions such as Rabbinic decrees that can bring bondage and curse to people but he never says that to believe and obeying Torah is a curse but is the other way around meaning if you do not keep or obey the Torah commandments you certainly are living a cursed life.
Please purchase the AF Nazarene Hebraic Study Scriptures to get a better understanding on this from www.abrahamic-faith.com.
How does the curse manifest itself?
As problems in your life, relationship, finances etc.
Deut 28:16 "Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.
You will lose your respect, people in the country or city you are living in may go against you. This is happening in countries such as Pakistan and India (Orissa) where churches are being burnt down. The question is why?
Deuteronomy 27:15 Cursed is the one who makes any carved or molded image, an abomination to God, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.' And all the people shall answer and say, `Amen!'
How about Disobedience and despising the name of God and setting up a graven image of the cross which is the symbol of Tammuz from Iraq of a false deity.
Deuteronomy 28:17 "Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
Problems with employment and jobs, loss of or problems appearing in this area are a sign of the curse of disobedience!!
How do we know if the curse is affecting one individual as a judgment or if it is a test on a saint?
Answer: When a judgment comes on a nation then it is collective such as the credit crunch it is a collective corporate judgment and hence not a test and though it affected one nation such as the US but its ramifications are worldwide such as many nations experienced the ripples of the judgment. While a test may come to an individual Saint which will only affect him and not the rest of the nation as it was with Abraham and his son but at other times it might affect others.
The only way to escape national judgment is to repent nationally as had happened in Jonah’s time in Iraq when he was sent to announce judgment but they collectively fasted and repented and judgment was avoided. However if a prophetic figure stood up and I am talking about a real prophet not the fake ones running around on TV these days selling green handkerchiefs and others who have made the TV a place for Selling God by constantly asking for money. A real prophet and not profit can stand in the gap as did Moses for Israel but he better have a right standing with Yahuweh to have his words heard or else…
Jonah 3:5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.
For us the credit crunch is unavoidable since there is not even a realisation of judgment amongst the nation of US. Enslaving real black Hebrews and suppressing their rights and trumping another religion such as Islam has its consequences.
Ø Deuteronomy 28:18 "Cursed shall be the fruit of your body…
Problems with such things as child birth recurrent miscarriages are signs of the curse of disobedience.
Ø Deuteronomy 28:19 "Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.
Surrounding people looking to ridicule you and putting you down. This is happening to Christians in many nations and it is not for obedience or a trial alone but for judgment because they break Torah and do not honour God’s words.
Deuteronomy 28:20 "The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me.
Going to church once a week or even seven times a week is not the point! If your life and your walk, halacha are not reflecting what God wants and you do not obey His commandments such as the Sabbath which is a sign and that is not sun-day (false worship) but on Friday sundown to Saturday sundown and keeping the seven feasts of Israel then you better watch out. Whatever you touch whatever business ends up in problems, its like you touch gold and it becomes dust, this is a sign of the curse that is now upon you for not being obedient.
Deuteronomy 28:25 "The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies; you shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them; and you shall become troublesome to all the kingdoms of the earth.
You become a slave in your own country your property is taken, your churches are broken. This is not a trial but judgment pure and simple. This is happening in Nigeria, India (Orissa), Pakistan and most people think this is persecution for being a Christian but no its not. Its blatant judgment and the curse of the Torah is upon you for not obeying what God commanded. When your neighbours who are Muslims start to overtake your properties and those that are Hindus come after to break your churches little children learn it is judgment not persecution.
The only way to come up on top is start being obedient and repent, call out to God and He will heal your land. Turn back to TORAH.
2 Chronicles 7:14 "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
REMEMBER YOU HAVE A CONVENANT WITH YHWH AND IF YOU CALL OUT TO HIM HE WILL RESPOND PROVIDED YOU OBEY HIM. The Egyptians did not listen and were destroyed. Even when Egypt became a Christian nation several years later then continued in their disobedience and the Muslims came and now Egypt is a Muslim nation. The same thing happened with Turkey, Somalia and now Nigeria North and the South divide. You decide where you want yourself to be. I would rather be with God and walk close to Him.
Torah brings freedom from ALL bondage and slavery and points us to Messiah to the broad path, by the way the Messiah of Israel Yahushua of Nazareth very Yahuweh Himself.
Paul is quoting Deuteronomy 27:26 Cursed is the one who does not confirm all the words of this law.' And all the people shall say, `Amen!'
Now do you see what Paul is saying, “Cursed is that person who does not confirm the written Law or commandments of Yahuweh given to Moses”, so in essence the ones who are following the Rabbinic Oral law are under the curse or “under the law” not the ones doing the written law of Moses.
Galatians 2:19 "For I through the law died to the law that I might live to Elohim.
What law is Paul referring to here? This would be better translated that as follows:
Galatians 2:19 For I through the human law am dead to the human law, that I might live to Elohim.
The oral Torah XE "Torah" could not save and was derived from sayings of the Rabbis things that the Rabbis decreed e.g. these are referred to as the Tachanot therefore, if you are following the Written Torah then you are dead to the oral Torah. The best way to understand these is to think of them as the Hadith (traditions) XE "Hadith" in Islam where everything Muhammad XE "Muhammad" did and said is recorded in Hadith and later the Muslim followers are trying to imitate his lifestyle to live similar to him. The lifestyle does not save you in Islam either but the fact that you are a Muslim believing in the Qur’an and Muhammad is what gives you salvation in Islam’s model.
Paul gets this reference from Deuteronomy 32:45:47
Deuteronomy 32:45-47 Moses finished speaking all these words to all Israel, (46) and He said to them: "Set your hearts on all the words which I testify among you today, which you shall command your children to be careful to observe all the words of this law (Torah XE "Torah" ). (47) "For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life, and by this word you shall prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess.''
Read that carefully, we must carefully OBSERVE all the words of the Torah XE "Torah" following the commandments of Elohim. This is NOT a futile thing as many are taught and it is certainly not legalistic. If we view Paul’s teaching with a jaundiced Western mindset then we will ultimately come to the conclusion that Torah is bad but if we view his teaching with the Hebraic mindset then we know that Torah is our foundation and life for us.
Paul on Romans 13:8-10: "We are in liberty"
With the Western mind this does not mean that once love fulfils the Torah then we no longer keep the commandments. We keep the commandments such as the Sabbath, feasts and clean meat laws as our love to the Father in heaven shown for what Messiah was sent to do. If all I did was a religious Sabbath on Friday Sundown to Saturday sundown and did not have any love in my life, basically acted out a robotic existence then my Torah keeping would be a waste of time. Justice, mercy and faith should be our highest calling and without these we cannot please YHWH. The verb love is not a lovey dovey feeling in Scriptures as most in the Western world are used to seeing but love is ACTION and means to DO. The to DO is the commandments that is REAL love.
5. Did not the Yahudim get saved by works?
Deuteronomy 10:16 "Therefore circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and be stiffnecked no longer."
Deuteronomy 30:6 "And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live."
At no time could anyone be saved by keeping the Sabbath or eating just kosher meat. Salvation from time immemorial and the ancient of days has been by FAITH AND FAITH ALONE through grace provided by the Holy One of Israel and the righteousness of Yahuweh which we now receive through His Son has always been there because the Son is eternal. In fact you will be shocked to find that there is no sacrifice in the Torah for deliberate wilful sin meaning the only way is death eternally but if you have faith and repent then Yahuweh will forgive you and clothe you with His righteousness.
The MYTH that the church sadly propagated was that the Yahudim were saved by works and that indeed is a myth.
Did Yahushua do away with the Torah?
In fact He taught it to His disciples to keep it Matt 5:17-18.
John 8:56"Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it, and was glad."
Abraham knew and had a relationship with God.
Isn’t the Torah a curse?
Galatians 3:13 -- Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us -- for it is written, "Cursed be every one who hangs on a tree"
Obeying Torah would protect you from curses and if you do not obey the Torah then you are certainly under a curse even if you claim to be a Christian. This would certainly make no difference that is what Paul was teaching. The word Christian would be so foreign to Paul. The word Chrestos was the part of the name of the deity Mithras long before Messiah was born and the followers of Sarapis a foreign deity were known as Christians at least two centuries before Yahushua’s birth which term translated then into “good people”.
6. Is there a sacrifice for each sin in the Torah?
First and foremost I want to make one thing absolutely clear that Yahushua is God, (Eternal Elohim) there is no question in my mind that He EVER changes. He never has and never will.
Many Christians have taken a false concept of God upon themselves because He is no longer the eternal One but keeps changing. The same argument that we give to the Muslims can also be given to the Christians because they don’t know any better that God does not change (Mal 3:6). One minute He is at Mount Sinai giving the Ten commandments then next minute according to man’s theology (Christians) He has changed His mind about the Sabbath and done it away or given it to the Yahudi only. Such things are regularly taught in most mainstream Western churches and has become the pinnacle of Western theology and all built on error and dispensationalism to remove the Yahudi people from the eternal covenant with Israel and Israel alone. The Western people don’t even know who are the real children of Israel.
If we put Elohim in a tin box as most Christians do then the end result is God isn’t eternal according to men’s theologies. Although according to Scripture God is eternal and everlasting from age to age and NEVER changeable (He does not mutate to satisfy different errant denominations). Sorry Christendom you have been deceived by Rome all along and have simply inherited lies. Its time to drop the lies.
Jeremiah 16:19 O God, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, "Surely our fathers have inherited lies, worthlessness and unprofitable things.''
Any doctrine that rules out Israel as a bride is worthless and unprofitable.
Question) Didn’t Paul say that to live in the law meant being judged by it and not living in the law meaning we won’t be judged by it?
Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law
Answer) We do not say many are ignorant for nothing but this verse is a classical case of utmost ignorance and blatant disregard for understanding Paul who is a highly skilled Pharisee.
Let us first see that the passage is taken out of context. Let us examine this:
Romans 2:2 But we know that the judgment of Elohim is according to truth against those who practice such things.
There is the context the word “truth” is the idiomatic expression for Torah obedience. So in the verse of Romans 2:1 one man can judge another by his own set of standards termed (law) but God judges by TRUTH meaning Torah because we know only Torah can reveal sin and righteousness.
Let us examine this further.
1 Kings 17:24 Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of God in your mouth is the TRUTH.''
See here what comes out of God’s mouth is TRUTH, meaning it is used for Instruction which is what? TORAH.
2 Kings 20:3 "Remember now, O God, I pray, how I have walked before You in TRUTH and with a loyal heart, and have done what was good in Your sight.'' And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
“Walk before you in TRUTH”. Meaning you can only keep the walk (Halachot) by Instructions which here again is referred to by the Hebrew idiomatic expression of TRUTH.
Psalms 25:5 Lead me in Your TRUTH and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.
Now you see how the idiomatic expression of TRUTH is used throughout Scriptures for TORAH yet millions are being deceived by shallow doctrines.
So when John 8:32 is quoted it is quoting Torah not some 21st century fad truth.
John 8:32 "And you shall know the TRUTH [TORAH], and the TRUTH [TORAH] shall make you FREE.''
What FREES You from errant theologies and bondage of churchy doctrines that have no basis in Torah?
ONLY one thing and that is the TORAH of MESSIAH given to Rabenu Moshe aka Moses. Many churches tell you don’t wear jewellery, don’t wear this, don’t wear that but the real deal is in the Torah as you can wear jewellery.
ü The Non-sense of pre-trib rapture is also dismissed by TORAH. The wrong pagan names are ALSO dismissed by TORAH such as Allah, Vishnu and Brahma.
ü The bondage of Western marriage laws and divorce on demand, the Torah forbids them.
ü The freedom of Torah Patriarchal marriages which were practiced by our forefathers.
This is what happens when you live out the Western corrupt model of paganism sorry aka Christianity.
So friends the Torah sets us ALL free if we are willing to accept Messiah Yahushua and walk in His Torah then you can certainly be FREE INDEED.
Now let us examine Romans 2:12.
Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law
Let us examine the number of people involved in the above conversation:
Those that are without LAW or Torah have sinned. Look what it says they will perish (meaning gentile people have no law and if they sin they will die an eternal death), it does not say they will be saved. So how someone can come to gentiles being saved by remaining lawless is impossible.
Those that are in the LAW (Yahudi people) will be judged by the LAW meaning Torah here because it is Torah that reveals sin and righteousness.
1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
So if you break Torah you live in sin pure and simple.
Questions) My Pastor taught me that for every sin there was a sacrifice in the law is this true?
Answer)
1 Samuel 3:14 "And therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.''
Please read 1 Samuel 3 about three times to take in the fact that never in the history of Israel out of the exodus did God ever give a sacrifice for every sin committed in that person’s life. The whole point of the sacrificial system was an act of grace given to Israel at a time when they were in the wilderness so that they don’t have to keep running to God for ever little detail, this was given to reveal the nature of God that He is everlasting.
Unintentional sin
Leviticus 4:2-3 "Speak to the children of Israel, saying: `If a person sins unintentionally against any of the commandments of God in anything which ought not to be done, and does any of them, (3) if the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, then let him offer to God for his sin which he has sinned a young bull without blemish as a sin offering.
God had made provision that for unintentional sins the person could receive forgiveness by offering a sacrifice. This does not mean that this was a method of habit in other words that simply because you offered an animal that did not mean automatic qualification for forgiveness. It was up to God to forgive or not to forgive as the prerogative was His which means grace was needed still and is what pushed God to forgive not the ritual.
The idea of the ritual was to teach the need for procedure and also the holiness towards God which many in Christianity would do well to learn.
Intentional sin
Many people think that there was a particular offering for intentional sin but the Torah does not prescribe an individual offering for intentional sin. You might ask what about the feast of Yom Kippur. This offering would cover for the corporate guilt of the whole community of Israel yearly both intentional and unintentional sins but there was only one problem with it like any other sacrifice that it was not automatically accepted. For Israel to know if this was accepted or not they would have to tie a scarlet string to the horns of the altar and then wait and see if that turned white. If that did not turn white they thought that God had rejected the sin offering. In other words salvation was always by grace and never by works. The tying of sin has nothing to do with a Torah ordinance but the Yahudi people took this for atonement from Isaiah 1:18 and the inference in it.
It is recorded in the Mishnah that the scarlet did not turn white for a whole forty years after Yahushua’s death and resurrection. Why would it since Yahushua was the sacrificial lamb once and for all times. This string did not turn white but that does not mean YHWH has decided to now change His laws or that He rejected His covenant people. What this means is that the Messiah the one door of Israel was now to cover the whole 12 tribes of Israel including present day and future day Judah who were obeying Torah. Since Torah equals Messiah therefore Messiah equals Torah. The Yahudi people were from that time forward to remain in spiritual blindness until the return of the Messiah but this does not mean as many Christians think that the Yahudim are no longer saved and are going to the lake of sulphur. Wisdom and understanding
Job 28:12 "But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? (13) Man does not know its value, Nor is it found in the land of the living.
(22) Destruction and Death say, `We have heard a report about it with our ears.
Guess what? Where is the report of wisdom and understanding heard? In the lower pits of hell and where the destroyer is going aka Abbadon.
The metaphor for destruction and death is Satan.
Job 28:28 And to man He said, `Behold, the fear of God, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding.'
The “fear” of God is “wisdom” and to depart from “evil” is understanding. How do you do that? God declares His name in the Torah and His instructions also so that if you keep them you can achieve both wisdom and understanding and be called a wise people because it only comes from the mouth of God and Torah has come from the mouth of God.
Didn’t Paul say that the letter of Torah kills while the spirit gives life that means we are in grace?
2 Cor 3:6 (KJV) who also made us competent as servants of a Renewed Covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit, for the letter kills but the Spirit gives life.
What we see here is determined by ancient Rabbinic meanings of the passage. I can assure you it does not mean the Torah is done away, any pastor who teaches this really should not be a Pastor and should go back and re-study scripture and spend time in Israel with a good learned orthodox Rabbi.
The letter kills so speaking mystically and with an ancient Rabbinic understanding the right side is the side of Judgment and strength which means this would be the side of God that would kill if a person is guilty of sin. The left side is the side of mercy and grace and would give life. The two have to be united or balanced and are balanced by what we term the “soul of Torah” the Middle also known by ancient Rabbi’s as the middle-pillar a term that is given to mean the Tzadik One or the Righteous One who we know to be the Messiah of Israel Yahushua.
So now we can understand what Rabbi Sha’ul a Pharisee was speaking about. The right side kills and the left side saves so the two are balanced by the Son Yahushua who gives us eternal life because He holds the keys to the Malchut (kingdom).
