The dress code is to dress modes

AFNHSS – All references Abrahamic-Faith Netzarim Study Scriptures unless indicated.

Yahudim – Tribe of Yahudah that was maintaining the Torah and Temple with the Levites.

The dress code is for us to dress modestly as per the Biblical dress. This is mentioned by Paul; To show ones body parts such as the breasts or parts of body will cause men to stumble and it is something Yahushua spoke about to commit lust by looking (Matthew 5:28) , this can only happen when you see someone’s wife or another woman showing her body such as breasts or other parts i.e. thighs/legs causing men to fall who are usually not able to control their desires. This is entirely inappropriate.

The Muslims took their dress code from the Yahudim but going so far as to wear Hijab with facial covering is an overkill but the instructions to women on the dress code to cover themselves is actually a Biblical one that has been adopted from the Bible by even Muslims and other cultures while those professing the Western adaptation of either Hebraic faith of our forefathers walk around with naked heads or even inappropriate dress. This has become a contentious issue. After writing this article I was even deemed a Taliban but to all the Pastors I say you are coming into the faith given to us so please learn to respect God and learn to obey our Torah without issuing inflammatory remarks and of halacha for which you have no knowledge.

The word for "modest" apparel is actually a long dress that covers her whole body not parts of the body. Furthermore she is not to be shamefacedness, how can this be? If she is going to parade around with half chest then that is shamefacedness. Not Godly.

First Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with modesty and self-control; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

The word for "modest" in the Greek is "katastole" that cannot ever be a miniskirt or a short skirt of any sort. Biblically it is wrong to wear these types of dresses, even some might go as far to say that it is wrong for women to wear trousers that are tight as they can show ones crotch and according to the Bible these are considered men's dresses not women's and are an abomination to Yahuweh.

Debarim (Deuteronomy) 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which is men’s clothing, neither shall a man put on women’s clothing: for all that do so are offensive unto hwhy your Elohim.

Men are not to wear women's clothes, some women who wear such tight clothes such as jeans actually show their figure and that in itself can be inappropriate even though it completely covers their body. Let's believe Yahuweh for a change rather than argue about it.

In the Biblical times men wore long tight robes as per the women wearing robes that were looser but men also wore shorts underneath or breeches running below the knees with belts that they could tuck their robes into what was called "girding your loins", they could tuck the robes also into their shorts that would allow them to do something faster, pick a load etc. We see this in the exodus of Egypt when Israel was told to "gird their loins to eat the Passover". That means eat in a hurry.

Shemoth (Exodus) 12:11 And thus you shall eat it; with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is hwhy's Passover.^{^[1]}

I can give you more examples of how women are considered Biblically "naked" just by bearing their thighs, well does not a miniskirt bear the thighs that is considered to be naked?

Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 47:2-3 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover your locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. 3 Your nakedness shall be uncovered, yes, your shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet you as a man.

Although symbolically and literally applied to the daughter of the Chaldeans this shows in Yahuweh's eyes the thighs being uncovered are a sign of nakedness and related to gentiles and we can see many women in the West baring their thighs which is deemed inappropriate in our Abbah YHWH’s sight. This would mean a long skirt is appropriate in the West which covers your thighs and legs while a short is definitely not right.

First Corinthians 6:19-20 What? Do you not know that your body is the Beyth HaMikdash (Temple) of the Ruach Ha Kadosh (Set-Apart Spirit) which is in you, which you have of Elohim, and you are not of your own? 20 For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify Hwhy in your body.

We are a peculiar people means treasured to Yahuweh, when people see us they need to see people who are different from the rest of the world, if they are going to see people who are the same as the rest of the world then what use of us having a set-apart God and what of us as a set-apart people?

Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a treasured people, zealous of good works.^{^[2]}

Women are fine to wear skirts as it is the normal attire for many Western women, even in Egypt many women wear skirts which only shows small parts of ankles so that would not qualify as an unfit dress however miniskirts would be something that would go into the category of nakedness and I am sure believing women would not be wearing these one would hope. However I have seen otherwise. They should really opt for long skirts opposed to men style trousers of any type.

As for the trousers the ones women wear in the Western world there is debate around this. Some people reject them altogether and others allow them. In my instance I have said that it is preferable to wear a long skirt or an abaya a long biblical dress in daily life without the facial covering adopted by Muslim women. The believing women should always wear head-coverings when in service and even men especially during worship. Although a good practice but head coverings do not have to be worn al the time for women when outside generally for shopping or going to work but it is encouraged to do so to show your Y’sraelite faith since in ancient times they wore them both men and women. A loose scarf is most appropriate or the women may choose another style of head-covering. Covering your face as the Muslim women do is forbidden as it was common custom in first century Y’sra’el and surrounding gentile nations for prostitute men and women to wear facial coverings to hide their face.

See AF Bible translation First Cor 11:6-9. The head-coverings are mandatory in worship both for men and women, no ifs and buts.

However what about the trousers for women. These really are a symbol of men in the West so I would suggest discretion is sought and women should not wear trousers at all. If a woman wears a trouser then spiritually this is a sign of usurping authority and whether you agree or not agree it makes lilttle difference but the moment your wife, your daughter and your sister starts wearing trousers she is spiritually in rebellion and it will only be a matter of time before she completely rebels. When she wears trousers she indicates in the spiritual world that she is boss. This is paramount to saying I know better. The priesthoold belongs only to men. In ancient African culture from where we have got our Hebrew faith men were priests and women were never priests. So be careful to instruct your loved ones and don’t lose them to rebellion.

These would be forbidden in the future Temple times but for now while we live in the exile we need to weigh our options and not dress as men do. There is something about the trousers and if women wear them it give them the masculine spirit unfortunately it does affect their physche and my opinion is that these should be avoided.

Although these do cover the thighs and legs and thus do not qualify for nakedness however they could still be classed as men’s dress as per the Torah citation above. Christians or believing women who continue to wear trousers and Jackets are in Torah violation and there are spiritual ramifications in the spiritual demonic realm. The women who continue to ignore this are welcoming unclean spirits into their life and heading towards rebellion. Think about what you are doing.

A question was sent in by a reader about shorts and the use of them in the home and outside. Do they suggest nakedness as the thighs are visible.

Unless you are going for a public bath in a men’s only area it is absolutely forbidden to wear these in public worship services. I have seen Christians attending service with them. This is ignorance and a Torah violation! However if you choose to wear these in your privacy or in your home this is entirely at your own discretion and allowed as per the Torah, Then he drank of the wine, and was drunk; and became uncovered in his tent (Gen 9:21).

A case in point if we applied the fine lense of the Torah many gentile sports today would be classed as illegal and Torah violations. I would let you imagine what those are because football would class as one.

In the South-East Asian culture women wear shalwar which looks like a very loose trouser like dress. These are allowed and not forbidden. In China women wear a loose pyjama type lower dress or a dress which is like a skirt or long coat. These are also within halacha and do not fit the description of men’s trousers.

Now as to me being critical and condemning to women who wear trousers this is not my job for the world and not my function but YHWH’s. I am here simply to point you to the right direction. My reason to write the article is my love for Him and His creation and not to judge or revile people. We must learn to exercise mercy.

As far as our AF Synagogues and worship places are concerned we adhere to the Torah and Halacha.
