Abrahamic Studies part 4 - Why does Abraham say “I remain childless” when he has children? By Rabbi Simon Altaf

Gen 15:2 (KJV) And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

Beresheeth (Gen) 15:2 But Abram said, Adoni^{^[1]} hwhy, what will You give me, seeing I go without son, and the heir of my Beyth (house) is Eli’ezer of Damascus?

First as can be clearly seen the text of the King James Version is not entirely accurate though one can say I don’t have any children which implies no sons and daughters but to say I don’t have any children in the ancient Hebrew/Afro/Asiatic culture actually means something very different to how people use the words today. It actually means I don’t have sons for the line of throne. It does not mean I don’t have any sons at all. This is because in that culture more than one wife could have children but it does not mean they can all sit on the throne or ruling prince role. This is what Abraham is stating.

Eli’ezer was Abraham’s legal son from a concubine/wife called Mesek, she is mentioned in the Septuagint but omitted in the later translations. Who was Mesek?

In the King James Version we have the following text which gives it the impression that Abraham married his wife Keturah after the death of Sarah nothing could be further from the truth. Abraham had four wives at the same time married in different periods of time while three were mentioned by name but one remains voiceless that was Masek the mother of Eli’ezer. Genesis 25:1-2 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. 2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

Beresheeth (Gen) 25:1-2 And Henceforth Abraham continued with his wife, and her name was Keturah. 2 And she had birthed him Zimran, Yokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishvak, and Shuah.

It is clear that Abraham had six sons from his wife Keturah. Keturah is not Hagar because she was an Egyptian while Keturah is the daughter of Joktan who was a Hebrew the son of Eber. See Abraham Study part 2

The text of Yashar 12:59 (The book of Jasher) tells us that Eli’ezer was a gift to Abraham. According to Yashar 13:5 Abraham was fifty years old when YHWH came to him to ask him to leave the land with his wife and household. Abraham and his wife Sarah were very active missionaries converting people to the faith of Yahuweh. You can see this in the text in Genesis 12:5.

Beresheeth (Gen) 12:5 Then Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Charan; and they departed to go to the land of Canaan; so they came to the land of Canaan.

Abraham, Sarah, Lot her brother and all the people whom they had acquired. Who were the people they had acquired? These were not servants but people they had actively converted to the true faith. No, it was not the present church nonsense preached but the true Torah faith of obeying Elohim and not, the don’t tell me the law and don’t be legitimistic nonsense we hear from Christendom. The text in Genesis 12:5 is a very mater of fact text. It tells you they came to the land of Canaan and does not say this was his first visit. In fact Abraham’s mother lived in Bethlehem. Abraham had been here before deJa Vu.

In Ancient times Beyth-lechem was a worship place of a false deity too called Lechem. However Yahushua said I am the bread of life in which He ascribed full deity to Himself.

Yahuchannan 6:35 And vSwhy said to them, I am the lechem (bread) of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst.

Yahuchannan 6:41-44 The Yahudim (Hebrew people) then complained, because he said, I am the lechem (bread) which came down from shamayim (heaven). 42 And they said, is not this vSwhy, the son of Yosef, whose Abbah and mother we know? How is it then that he said, I came down from shamayim (heaven)? 43 vSwhy therefore answered and said to them, complain not among yourselves. 44 No man can come to me, except the Abbah which has sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Yahushua even said He is the bread and meat (John 6:54). It is noteworthy to know that the Horoite clans lived in Beythlechem and that Yahushua was directly descendant of these people since Abraham’s people were Horoites/Africans who started off from West Africa. The people in Beythlechem used to give sacrifices there to the false deity of Lechem. Yahushua directly challenged that if they drink his flesh and blood He will give them eternal life. This thing bothered them since he was directly challenging the status quo of people who lived in Bethlehem and believe that in order to bring a sacrifice to the false deity Lechem will give them eternal life while Yahushua said no I will give you eternal life. This is not to say that those Yahudim all followed Lechem but some deviant groups did.

In ancient Y’sra’el and many other Eastern places the names of cities and people were often the name of their personal elohim. This is why Beythlechem is no exception. This place was a place of false sacrifice long before King Dawud another black Hebrew came on the scene. In the Tanach YHWH gathers his people beside Baalzephon (Exodus 14:2) another place of false worship, why?

Why did YHWH wanted to be honored before Pharaoh here in Baalzephon since he had already did it once in Mitzrayim (Egypt)? Why would He do it twice at a desert location opposite the Saudi Arabian Gulf?

This is because it was now time for sowing and reaping. This was the place where the Egyptians were brought to be drowned who knew this place well which is why they quickly found it and would often go there to sacrifice to Baalzephon the hidden deity and you thought it was a harmless place name! YHWH wanted to demolish the concept of Baal from the minds of Egyptians that he is nothing but a false power hence because they had been advised to drown the children of Y’sra’el before by the advisors of Pharaoh.

Baal in ancient Hebrew script means “the House of strength” hence why this Hebrew text means “a husband” the head of the house. Zephon in modern Hebrew means to be hidden or the North but in ancient Hebrew script it means “The face of the moon.” This was the place of Baal who was also considered the moon god. Many of you probably have never read this until now therefore it’s good to know that you have arrived. His shrine was by the Sea or waters as he was seen to be pouring waters and also drawing waters inland hence where we get the term rain god from Africans and Indians.

So in conclusion we may ask how Abraham can say I have no son when he had eight healthy sons already in Genesis 15:3. To most people this is lost and not understood but in effect Abraham is not denying his other eight sons but his ruling princess wife Sarah in the North had no seed so this is why Abraham talks about having no seed to rule that northern territory given to Sarah. He could not allow a son from the south of either Hagar or Keturah to rule in the North this was not allowed. Strictly a no, no because two wives could not mix while today many make the foolish mistake of keeping two wives in the same house. Learn from Abraham. If some of you want to live the Patriarchal lifestyle then it requires wisdom, money and maturity. Each wife must be given their own territory to operate freely rearing children for YHWH without hindrance or bickering.

While when Sarah became pregnant this was truly a miracle for a barren woman at a high age who otherwise had no chance of conceiving a child. Being barren in the east was and still is seen as a curse from Elohim and no one went looking for fertility pills in those days. The word for infertility in Yourba is airomobi which carries a great amount of stigma. When a husband to one wife or more wives speaks to a wife not having children he has to be exercise great sensitivity not to hurt their feelings. So one can understand what stresses Abraham would have been in when his southern two wives had children and his Northern princess had none. Imagine each time he was with Sarah this would become a thorn in his flesh. A man in his capacity would have to avoid talking about his other sons not to hurt his wife Sarah. Normally men may not be stigmatized as much but if a man has another wife and she has children then this exacerbates the problem even further. In Islamic culture it is perfectly acceptable not having children is a reason for a man to get a second wife without divorcing the first.

Women in the East even today are cursed down and talked about in the families who cannot bare children and it grieves women greatly causing immense arguments in the home and they think there is something wrong with them when there may not be. Unfortunately women in the East have not changed since time immemorial. In India they are cursed down with the words Bhanj which means infertile but it’s not just a word it’s like a sword and hurts women greatly when spoke about like that.

The Japanese word for infertility is Umazume which is pretty bad as it means “stone woman” or woman without life. Imagine calling a woman that in an argument. When these things happen other people question whether the woman who is not becoming pregnant cursed by voodoo or black magic or even by God so the whole experience can become very bitter for women and in order to understand Sarah one has to be in her shoes or in her African cultural milieu The women in the East spend an immense amount of time visiting Shamans for magic cures and curses on other people they dislike which are all ungodly practices. All these things are lost to the Western culture and seminaries which live in a different world removed from our world where we came out of.

This is a thing good about Western women they do not run after Shaman’s to put witchcraft on the people they dislike. They say the words good or bad to their faces or can be very diplomatic and get on with life. This is a good attitude to have. This should show you that the Bible culture is African/Asiatic culture through and through whether considered bad by some we have to live as Yahuweh ordained.
