Can I utter the name and what is the name of our God? By Rabbi Simon Altaf

YHWH – Pronounced Yahu-weh
Yahushua – The true name of the person many call Jesus
All quotes Abrahamic-Faith Netzarim Study Bible (AFNHSS) unless stated.
Many people with the desire to know the truth and wishing to pronounce the name usually ask me can I pronounce the name of YHWH and if I do then is there any particular way to say it so that I may not profane it or offend God?
This same answer varies from teacher to teacher but the reality is that there is only one real answer. Yes you can say it and you are not profaning Him by saying the name. Many people have run off with the idea that you cannot say the name except in a particular way however what is important is that YHWH can be pronounced in various different ways. Some people choose to say Yahoo-way using the Long U sound as in the word Flute while others use the short u sound as the word “pluck” so it would be fine to say Yahoo-weh or Yah (short oo)-weh. Some people say it as Yahovah however this sound is not found in the spelling or calling of YHWH but if we separate the syllables such as Yahovah here is what we get.
Ya- The short name of YHWH.
Hovah – Strong’s 1942 meanings ‘calamity’, ‘destroyer’, ‘,mischief’, ‘naughty’, iniquity, wicked and perverse.
As can be seen I have only given you a few meanings but they are all negative therefore this name pronunciation is unfortunately incorrect and should be avoided however it would be wrong to say that such people are going to hell or facing punishment since the person may be saying it without knowledge. The term can be used as Huvah instead of Hovah and used to pronounce the name such as Yahuwah in a long U as in the sound of the word Flu-te.
Now a popular argument with some is this that the name is only pronounced as Yahuwah/Yahoowah. This argument by the way is made by those who have little to no knowledge of the real ancient Hebrew and do not know the Arabic language which carries many sounds of ancient Hebrew text correctly. Here is what they say to convince you.
They give you the word Yahudah and then say the following:
יהוּדה
Yahudah
They suggest that if we remove the Dalet the one marked by yellow highlight above then it will be the sound of Yahoowah. Is this true? The answer is No. Shocked? Indeed, and I have heard it and let people continue to use it since I know they can pronounce it this way if they like as there is no punishment for such usage but I do not need to impose what I know on to them.
Now let’s break it down in the ancient Hebrew and Arabic so we can understand why such arguments are flawed by applying modern linguistic terms to ancient words. A person like me who understands seven languages will knock down this argument in thirty seconds flat but let’s not go there.
If we have the modern word Yahudah יהוּדה then please tell me who decided that it was pronounced Yahudah and not another way? How about modern linguistics. And who told you that the ancient Hebrew has been restored? Unfortunately too much TV and Periodicals and the messy messianics perhaps. Did you ever bother go examine ancient Hebrew versus the modern usage of Hebrew? I doubt many have even seen the real Hebrew script but in this article you will get a glimpse.
The ancient Hebrew word for Yahudah was Yahud and not pronounced Yahudah and that is in conformity with Arabic which shows us that it carries the correct sound. Likewise the modern Jews make the name of King David as Dovid but this is not Hebrew but Yiddish. The Indian equivalent of this is Davat. So unless you are speaking Spanish or Italian stop pronouncing it as Daveed.
This linguistically with ancient rules cannot be. This is impossible. What most of you may not know is Arabs predate the sons of Yaqub the Hebrew. Yes. The first Arab was Yoktan or known as Qahtan in modern Arabic. He is the Father of all Arabs and he was also the great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather of Abraham. So Abraham has Arab blood, shocking but true. Abraham and his ancestors spoke more than one language and one of these languages was Hebrew or the most ancient Hebrew before being split into several languages. These were Africans living in African lands. Qahtan was not your traditional white Caucasoid Arab he was jet black in ethnical colouring.
The term David should most accurately be Dawud pronounced Dawoud not Dovid, dudu or Daveed. Once again the sound of the Arabic is correct which the Arabs carry while Modern Hebrew speakers are wrong about this pronunciation. They may only be right in calling this a modern Hebrew dialect and not ancient. Well what do you expect when East Europeans learn a language that is ancient. Many words change and meanings change. Its like asking a Scot to speak English and when a Scot speaks English even I cannot make head or tails of what he is saying because of the accent and sometimes I have to ask them to speak twice please. Mind you I love the Scott’s hence I use the analogy.
Moving on let me show you the term Dawud.
דוד(dalet-wav-dalet)
The middle Wav highlighted above acts as a W and modern U so the Dalet plus the U sound plus the Dalet pronounces Dawud with a woo in the middle.
In order to produce the Vah sound at the end of the name Yah-oo-wah, Yah-wah or Yahowah you would have to have to vowel point the letter Wav with the ancient Ayin then we can get the wah sound so it would be similar to the Hebrew word תּקוע Takoa. The only problem is in the sacred name of YHWH we do not have the Ayin ending but we do have the Ayin ending in Yahushua hence it has the Ah sound at the end.
As I told you that the argument can be torn apart in seconds for those who claim that Yahudah in modern speech and in Hebrew spelling makes room for YHWH to be pronounced as Yahoovah. Forget it, not so. However if you wish to pronounce it like this that is OKAY as long as you use the hard OO sound and not the soft O.
יהודה(Yahudh)
The Hebrew above is pronounced Yahud and the ending Heh highlighted is only an expelling of your breath in the original hieroglyph script. So in pronunciation it would be closest to Yahudh, (heh almost silent) note there is no Ah sound in that word. The Ah sound is modern and does not exist in the ancient text. It never has and never will.
So if we removed the Dalet in the word Yahud then what do we get with the four Hebrew letters that form the sacred name text.
יהוה (YHWH)
The closest sound of the sacred name with all four letters being both consonants and vowels is YAHUEH you cannot get Yahuwah or Yahoowah since there is no AH of that sound at the end as I illustrated earlier which is faulty scholarship. Even if you said the pronunciation is Yahu only you would be correct. Since the Heh can be silent or just an expressive breath hence why it was written many times in the Hebrew just as Yahu. Hu is the expelling of breath when speaking the name. Atheists take note that this is to remind us that our each breath is subject to and on loan from the Most High Elohim Yahuweh.
Many people present to you different names in the Bible and apply rules which are predicated by modern usage of the Hebrew text and by modern I mean made thousands of years later which do not work with the ancient text. So for instance let’s take the modern Hebrew word Tikvah for hope. Note it also has a similar ending to YHWH’s name, the last two letters are Wav and Heh so people using modern Hebrew sounds say since this ends in the sound Vah therefore so must the sacred name also.
תּקוה (Tikvah)
Now let me show you what this word is in ancient Hebrew. Tkuh or Tikuh and not Tikvah. Wherever there is a Wav ו never assume it is a Vah sound. The ancient Wav was always predominately a U sound so we have to use it as such unless other ending letter would change the preceeding Wav sound such as an ayin.
Also we need to be careful because the Most High is concerned about ritual purity and there are many instances when we become ritually impure with our actions please see my article how to protect the name here.

When people come to the revelation of the sacred name of Eloah they often ask how do I live with it now. Well you pronounce the name to glorify him in your prayers, in your devotions provided you are not in a ritual unclean state. If you are doubtful or are sure you are ritually unclean then you use titles such as God, Lord, Adonai and Ha’Shem. For instance Ha’Shem is a very good name to use for Eloah.
People usually ask how do I prevent the name from becoming vain. Vanity is not about how you pronounce the name but how you use it in your daily life by your actions. The way of the Hebrews was always action oriented and not theoretical pronunciations.
We are forbidden from using the name YHWH and ascribing it to foreign deities such as Allah (Exodus 23:13), Molech, Baal and other deities in our world today such as the millions of Hindu deities. This is akin to bringing it to vanity or falsehood. We cannot ascribe it to Krishna the Hindu deity and we certainly cannot ascribe it to the deity names of the various nations. One such title is ‘Jesus’ and we should also avoid it and use the true name Yahushua or if you prefer the Aramaic short form Yeshua.
See my article should I call his name Jesus or Yahushua.
How do I live my life after knowing the name? You must live your life by Torah the law of Eloah. You must keep the Sabbath on Friday sunset to Saturday sunset the set-apart time. You must avoid eating unclean foods see Leviticus 11 or my article on Kosher foods.
http://www.abrahamic-faith.com/Simon/HTML/Kosher.html
You should start to learn to keep the seven annual feasts see my book “The feasts of YHWH, the Elohim of Israel” in the AF website.
All these things require process of learning so you may have to learn to undo the wrong things in your life and do the right things according to Torah so it’s paramount you learn Torah. If you are not sure then you go and find yourself a good Torah teacher who also believes in the Messiah such as myself or someone else. That person may be far or near but as long as you get good instructions distance matters little in our world of communications today.
A good way to decide where to go learn is to pray to YHWH and ask for new doors to be opened and a teacher to be brought that can teach you. This is how you will by your actions sanctify the name and avoid it being profaned. We profane the name when we lie, cheat, slander and do the works of the flesh that are ungodly. So our aim should be through prayer to avoid such things altogether. If your job is one in which you have to regularly lie then look for another job where you do not have to lie. If your job is also one in which you have to give up the Sabbath then look for one in which you can keep the Sabbath. Give regular tithes of 10% from your monthly salary towards the works of the kingdom. Your tithe should go to a good Torah teacher and not to places of worship that do not teach Torah truths. The Torah teachers should also acknowledge the finishing work of Elohim through the Messiah Yahushua.
These are all simple things you can do and these will bring a real life change in the way you life and behave. I hope this article will help you to make the right choices.
Now take a little more in-depth look at the name.
What is in a NAME?
Our Elohim has a NAME and its pronunciation is Yahuweh or Yahueh with an aspirated sound some may choose to call Him Yehowah or Jehovah but these are not the correct pronunciations of the sacred name. They are nothing more then hybrids that have a lurking secret which we shall reveal. Note the Egyptian language has a J sound which means this gives the possibility for the Hebrew to have a J sound but naturally we know that the sacred name is still not beginning with a J sound.
In the Hebrew Masoretic text of the Bible we find the name (YHWH) Yahuweh which was substituted for the word LORD in the King James Version of the Bible and Ha’Shem in the Hebrew Bible. Both were works of men’s hands. Yahuweh has never asked man to alter or put a different name in the manuscripts, there is simply no rule to do that.
Who were the Masorets?
These were people who copied the Bible from earlier copies and maintained the scriptures around about the 6th to 10th century CE. They changed the vowel points of the NAME Yahuweh to Adonai for two reasons, one to obscure the NAME and secondly using the first century formula so people would not profane Yahuweh’s name. The formula that the 1st century scribes came up with is faulty for several reasons one of which is you were allowed to pronounce the name but their injunction was based on usage of the name in gentile circles while it may hold some value but the name was pronounced in ancient Synagogues.
Note there were some Karaites scribes amongst the masoretic people who left some vowel points in the name which can be found in the Leningrad Codex. Some believe this to be the most reliable Codex, it may be for some people however how do you know that the vowels they used were the correct ones and not to obscure the name further. The question to ask is the vowels that the scribes used were they according to their understanding and or agenda and or were they in the ancient Hebrew text. The reality is they neither had to reference nor could correlate with the ancient script.
Many of these Karaites also came from Russian conversions because the Khazars were predominately Karaites. Many believers forget that Yahushua was at odds with the first century Karaites who denied resurrection and other principles of our faith.
Yahushua was also hated by the Sadducees the ancient Karaites so when people present data today from the Karaites I have to weigh things by the first century. I am privy to the fact that our first Nasi (Leader) Yaqub of Beyth Netzarim was murdered by Karaites (Sadducees) so for me Karism is not it and I don’t go there.
Some today rationale that it may have been a necessary act that the scribes had to change the name to protect it while I personally believe this was a deliberate act of hiding the name and subverting it which is in contravention to the Ten Commandments, I am not sure the rationale of why one would chose to do such a thing, it’s quite likely that since Israel as a nation was no more on the scene and in dispersion, there were no checks and balances so they may have decided to protect the most sacred name considering the second commandment which today has been largely misinterpreted was not about taking the name but using it in oaths however conventional wisdom has it that the shoe is on the wrong foot since the meaning of the commandment was not to take false oaths using the sacred name and not to hide the name but the name was hidden instead so people could continue to take false oaths. Do you believe that? Yes what I just said is true. The modern Jews recite a formula each year to annual all their oaths before they have taken them on Yom Kippur. This is unfortunately the accepted practice today but in Yahushua’s time this was forbidden. By using this practice you are altering the words of YHWH and it could also be seen as deceiving people. The Zionist have used this formula to deceive the goyim (nations) yet some of you decry Takkiya the Muslim doctrine of teaching to lie at particular times. First we need to see this practice and then talk about the nations.
Exodus 20:7 (NKJV)"You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
Now a days it is common to say “oh my God” or Jesus Christ like a common word, this would be profaning the name of Elohim according to some but is it? Could it be that the NAME was hidden to prevent it from being defiled since Jesus Christ is not His real name and neither is the title God but Yahushua and YHWH are the real names? Since by saying “oh my God” then one can ask which God? If you said damn “Yahuweh” then we know that this is a name taken in vain and would be blasphemous and in Yahuweh’s theocracy would be punishable by death.
The Hebrew word “Shem” שׁמ means a Name but is more than a NAME and does not just simply mean a “name” but it denotes “honour”, “authority”, “character” and “renown”. The Greek term for the name is “onoma” that means “authority”, “character” and “fame”. The most ancient Hebrew has the characters
. In the most ancient text it means ‘LIGHT over the multitudes.’
When we take someone’s name we attribute certain qualities to that name may it be good or bad e.g. if I utter the name of Hitler, immediately it brings the holocaust to mind and the bad character of that name, because of what happened in Germany this name is regarded as disgraceful. If I say the NAME of Yahushua HaMashiach, immediately it brings His personality, His act of self love, His crucifixion on the tree that He died for the sins of rebellious Y’sra’el so that NAME has become very important for mankind because it connotes Salvation. It atones, it gives Shalom, healing, blessings. It frees people from bondage and slavery. So a name is not just a name but very important character and part of a person who has it. It can either reveal the good side of a person or it can show the worst in a person. For many Iraqi families the name Saddam Hussain brought pain and abuse and so they would curse this name considering the evils Saddam did to many ordinary Muslim families.
In Middle-Eastern traditions when babies are given names the names are first searched for meanings, if the meaning is good then the name is given else it is not even considered for use. The baby NAME is very important as a first step in the child’s life so much so that even the name for the Saviour was chosen by the Father in Heaven and was given for Yahushua by an angel to Yosef because the Father wanted to make sure His Son has the right name. Note Yahushua was not a new name. In Afro/Asiatic culture the firstborn son had the name of the mother’s father or grandfather. This name belongs to Yahushua’s great grandfather.
Matthew 1: 21 And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call his name vSwhy: for he shall save his people[1] from their sins.
We have the Bible in English and other languages such as Urdu, Hindi, Greek but the name was not given in the Greek language but in Hebrew as Yahushua which has a big importance. Not only does it reveal the character of the person carrying it such as “salvation” but it also reveals the name of the Elohim which is “Yahuweh” or only mentioned as the four letters YHWH in the scriptures. Many groups argue over how to pronounce the name failing to see that it was pronounced in three ways in the tabernacle and later Temple blessings during Yom Kippur (Num 6:24-26).
Genesis 49:18 I have waited for your Yahshuah, O hwhy.
There is a play on word as Yahushua the Messiah was going to be revealed.
Exodus 15:2 hy (YAH) is my strength and shir (song), and He has become my Yahshuah (Salvation: Deliverance): He is my El (The Power), and I will hallel (praise) Him; my father’s Elohim, and I will exalt Him.
Luke 2:21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcision of the child, his name was called vSwhy (Yahushua), which was so named by the heavenly messenger[2] before he was conceived in the womb.
The baby Yahushua was circumcised on the 8th day this circumcision commandment was given to Abraham for the covenant that Yahuweh made with him, Yahushua was also circumcised and given a name. The giving of the name on the 8th day is of great joy and a feast is usually celebrated in Hebrew households. These ties in with the 8th day the great day of the feast of Tabernacles called Shemini Atzeret or what we term the day after the rest. Note circumcision was not a new thing, the Egyptians had been circumcising since a long time ago but YHWH gave circumcision and made it into a Covenant while the Egyptians did not see it as a Covenant but only an act of ritual purity. Anyone today who claims to be a believer and does not physically circumcise has nothing to do with the Abrahamic Covenant.
The name is so important that Yahuweh changed Abraham’s name from Abram to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah. Abram’s name did not start of as Abram but would have been Abar then Abram followed by Abraham. This is for various reasons too long to explain here. We follow the African/Asiatic cultural practices to arrive at this conclusion looking at the ancient characters.
It should be understood that in Middle-Eastern ways NAME means Character of a person or nature of a person or more closely their personality. Note Sara was a tribal name of an African tribe while her real name was Yiskah (Gen 11:29) and so Sarah was a title and not her real name but by making it Sarah it denoted the Ruach Ha Kadosh or Holy Spirit enveloped in the name which is seen as Elohim’s breath or wind.
It is a scriptural precedence that ALL believers should choose a good name for their children but unfortunately this is not so with a lot of the West today who do not know their Hebrew roots but they are becoming far removed from Elohim in their everyday lives.
This is what scripture says about a name;
Ecclesiastes 7:1 A good name[3] is better than precious ointment.
In proverbs we are told;
Proverbs 22:1 A good name[4] is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
So we need to pay attention because A NAME is very important.
Many people say use whatever NAME you call out to Elohim it does not matter, this is the kind of gentile rubbish out there.
Some people would say use whatever name you like it does not matter whether we use lord, Elohim, Allah, baghwan, premeshwar, khuda etc, etc because they are all attributes of Yahuweh.
Scripture makes this argument to be false by telling us that there is only one NAME under heaven where we must be saved;
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under shamayim (heaven) given among men, whereby we must be saved. [That name is Yahuweh]
The passage in the book of acts was quoted by Luke taken from the book of Yo’el.
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of hwhy shall be delivered:...
Which NAME? The name is Yahuweh not “lord”, not God, not baghwan, and certainly not Allah, there are Lords many but only one Akhad YHWH. I will say however that if you did not know the "name" and if you sincerely called out to the creator of this world just generically then I am certain He would respond in mercy as He did in my life without knowing His personal "name" but to know the "name" and then to ignore it or hide it is sinful. The third commandment makes this precedence.
The English term vain used in Exodus 20:7 means to have no real substance, empty; desolate, useless, void; worthless; unsatisfying. Is this what you have designated the loving name of Yahuweh to be?
This is what most Christian clergy and modern Jewry rabbinics has done, each one as bad the other, both Ephraim and allegedly Judah equally guilty of hiding the name. In essence exactly what Yahuweh said don’t do they did. The alleged Judah today hides the name and then used words such as Ha'Shem, Adonai, Elokim to replace the holy Name while Ephraim/Christians use terms like Lord, God to hide it too. Ask a Christian do you know Yahuweh and most would have never heard of it. They are likely to respond with “is that Arabic?”
The Hebrew root word for "vain" is Shav and to demonstrate the point how bad this replacement is.
Exodus 5:20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
שׁוא׃ עד ברעך ולא־תענה
V'Lo, T'anah Broakha Ad Shav
So the Hebrew term Shav is used here which is translated as "false". Now see what Christians are doing by using Lord and God? They are making the mistake of hiding the name and this is not good. This is not to say that you can never use the term Lord or God but it is to say that when we are able to we must use the sacred name.
Let me give you two examples. When I was a Muslim I called out to Allah for nearly 10 years but he never responded even once by a mistaken chance. When I started seeking the true Elohim though He answered me but at that time I only came to know Him by the term "Jesus" which I realised to be incorrect but once I knew His real name and started using it I could feel a sea of difference in my understanding and approach to the living Elohim.
Let me give you another example; my name is Simon, if I am walking in the street and there is a crowd of people, let us say you yelled David to call out to me, do you think that I would understand that you are calling me and I should respond? Chances are I would not even bother to respond? However if you yelled David several times loudly that may make me curious to look but still that is not my name.
In the Bible Yahuweh tells us;
Jeremiah 29:13 And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart.
So the condition for finding Yahuweh is given as “seeking” Him and this is exactly what I started doing when I was searching for Him. If it does not matter what name then why is it that the Scriptures have preserved Yahuweh’s name around 7000 times? The term Yah in the Hebrew Bible is there at least forty-nine times. The term Yah or Yahu Yahushua correctly becomes Yahu-shua e.g. Yahuweh He saves or Yahuweh He has become my personal salvation.
The term Jehovah is nothing more than a hybrid of the true name Yahuweh pronounced YAAH-U –WEH. Now the term Yehova because there is was no J in the English language when this was hailed as a great discovery back in the 16th century has the root word “hovah”. We must remember that Hebrew is made up of root words but one important factor ancient Hebrew is a monosyllable language. Had the German who hailed this as a discovery checked the root of this word he would have been horrified to find the truth that this was not the name of our creator. The Hebrew meanings that the root word “Hovah” carries are “naughty”, “evil”, “iniquity”, “mischief” and “ruin” alongside some other bad meanings which we will leave for brevity’s sake.
The form of Hovah as shown הוּה
You can check the term is used in the book of Iyob one of the oldest writings.
Iyob 6:2 Oh that my grief was thoroughly weighed, and my calamity (Hovah) laid in the balances together!
Now imagine when you pray O’ “Yehovah”, what are you saying? O’ the mischief one or the sinful one or the one who brings ruin? All these titles belong to only one that is Satan and not to YHWH so let’s get the name right because we should stop living the lie that the name is not pronounceable or lost, it is very clearly to be Yahueh and is repeated in scripture many names.
Ok, what about when you use the term Allah? Allah has the meaning of the “one who can destroy”, when you break the words “Allah” apart it cannot be translated. The Arabic term where Allah is a derivative is Halla and is closely attributed to Hallak which means destruction. Muslims often sit in mosques and sing Allah HU, this “HU” is another title for the false Egyptian deity but Muslims are not aware of these things.
Why should we use the personal NAME of Yahuweh
Exodus 3:15 Moreover Elohim said to Musa (Moses), Thus you shall say to the children of Y’sra’el, hwhy Elohim of your ahvot (fathers), the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Y’tzhak, and the Elohim of Yaqub, has sent me to you: this is My Name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.
In exodus 3:15, Yahuweh does not say this is one of My names but says “this is MY NAME FOREVER”, the Hebrew word L’olam v’ed is used here that means this name is eternal e.g. it will NEVER change, it is sealed and the keys are thrown away so to say. It is a Memorial the Hebrew word Zikkar is used which means we must remember and teach it for all times as long as we are here on earth. Are you teaching it and using it or are you still into Lord, God, Adonai, HaShem, Elokim? Zikkar means to to stand up, proclaim and make it known. Are you making it known or are you only using it when you come to worship in an assembly? Also note that the present Jewry incorrectly teaches that the word used in Hebrew is Alem instead of Olam which means to conceal so they teach it to conceal it. This is faulty as it breaks the very word Zikron which is to remember by making mention of it.
Yahuweh said;
Exodus 15:2-3 Yah is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; This is my Elohim, and I will enshrine Him; My father's Elohim, and I will exalt Him. YHWH the warrior—YHWH is His name!
(Jewish Publication Society 1999 Hebrew English Tanakh)
How we can end up profaning Yahuweh’s NAME?
When we mix with people of other nations then there is a tendency to mix with them and use the names of their deities that they are using e.g. we have seen this with the Muslims and Christians living in Islamic lands using Allah, even the Arabic Bibles have wrongly translated Yahuweh’s personal name as Allah which is an impossibility and it boggles our mind that those who call themselves scholars should be ashamed of making such a big blunder, it only proves our contention that the interpreters were obviously spiritually blind and mentally afraid to correctly translate the term for YHWH which can only be translated to Yahuweh in Arabic and nothing less.
In my opinion this is what I term profaning the name of Yahuweh and bringing it to nothing or to attach it to false deities and proclaim as holy writ when it isn’t. We should all strive not to do this. Even many Jewish people are fooled into the deception who believe Allah is just another appellation for YHWH. This is never the case. Note Exodus 20:7 was not about taking the name generally but about taking an oath in YHWH’s name. Two very separate things. Would you take a false oath? That is what the third Commandment is about.
Allah is not from YHWH or from Alaha or from Ilah. This is subterfuge when people claim that the terms Alaha in Aramaic or Ilah in Arabic can be contrived to mean Allah. Clearly when people do this it shows that they know nothing about the Arabic culture language or linguistics.
Psalm 66:1-4 1 Make a joyful noise to Elohim, all you lands: 2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious. 3 Say to Elohim, How terrible are you in your works! Through the greatness of your power shall your enemies submit themselves to you. 4 All the earth shall worship you, and shall sing to you; they shall sing to your name. Selah.
Yahuweh is not one of the NAMES but it is The Shem (NAME) like the psalmist says, “They shall sing praises to Your NAME”. This is not plural or one of many but it is singular, the ONE name under heaven.
Psalm 99:2-3 hwhy is great in Tsiyon; and he is high above all the people.
3 Let them praise your great and terrible name; for it is Set-Apart.
Another way is when Christians living in Islamic countries start using Allah as a NAME for Elohim but Yahuweh has never had any other personal name and Allah is the personal name of the Muslim deity. In order to use this name and apply it to Yahuweh I consider this not only sacrilege but degrading Yahuweh including gross ignorance. Those Christians will have to answer on the day of judgement for this sin why they could not use His personal NAME and used false deity names instead. The punishment for such people will also occur in this life measure for measure. Note they blasphemy YHWH’s name two ways one by using the deity name of Islam and two by not obeying His Commandments the Torah of Musa. This is already being repaid back in measure for measure when Christians are being charged with blasphemy for Muhammad in Islamic lands and the law is used in Pakistan called 295c blasphemy laws. Since they have blasphemed YHWH they get the punishment to do the Tikkun right here. They day they start protecting and upholding the most sacred name the blasphemy law will disappear from Pakistan!!!
What NAME did Yahushua come to magnify?
Although we worship Yahushua Ha-Mashiach Ha Netzrim, (Jesus of Nazareth) but Yahushua also said He came to reveal His Father’s NAME.
John 17:3,6, 26 And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true Elohim, and vSwhy The Messiah, whom you have sent. (6) I HAVE MADE KNOWN YOUR NAME to the men whom you gave me out of the world: they were yours, and you gave them to me; and they have guarded your word. (26) And I have DECLARED TO THEM YOUR NAME, and will declare it: that the love wherewith you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
What is the pronunciation of the sacred Name?
Scholars have ignorantly said that the four letters YUD, HEH VAV and HEH are consonants and we do not know how to pronounce the name. They have also said that vowel points came later.
In Exodus the story of how to create the high priestly garments we read something interesting.
Exodus 28:36-37 You shall also make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet: Set-Apart to hwhy. 37 And you shall put it on a blue cord that it may be on the turban; it shall be on the front of the turban.
Josephus the Yahudi historian tells us that the four letters were in fact vowels; we know that these four sacred letters Tetragrammaton can be both vowel and consonants not just consonants as some believe today.
Josephus citing this passage says that the turban that the High priest was to wear had the four vowels embossed on it.
Josephus was a well know Yahudi Levite priest and would have known the name well.
[5]"A Turban also of fine linen encompassed his head, which was tied by a blue ribbon, about which there was another golden crown, in which was engraved the sacred name, it consists of four vowels." (underline mine)
The names of prophet’s e.g. Jeremiah is an English reading but it is read as Yerme’Yah (Yah will exalt or Yah exalts). It can also be pronounced as Yerme’Yahu in an alternative reading or spelling.
Zechariah the English reading is pronounced as Zechar-Yah or Zechar-Yahu that means Yah is remembered.
The name Zedekiah would be Zedek-Yah meaning Righteousness of Yah.
[1]The noted Greek Pagan Diodorus first century BCE says: “Among the Yahudim Moses referred to the deity as Yahu” (obviously written with the Greek text).
Theodoret of Cyprus in the 6th century tells us that the Samaritans pronounced the name as IABE and also in its short form as Iah.
[6]Samaritans: Inhabitants of the district of Samaria, following the exchange of population effected by the Assyrians after their conquest in 722/1 B.C. Pursuing their policy of transferring conquered peoples, the Assyrians deported many of the original inhabitants of the Northern Kingdom and replaced them with a mixture of people from the east: Babylon, Avva, Hamath, Sepharviam and Cuth (deriving from the latter, the Samaritans are often referred to in rabbinic literature as Cuthim). The name Samaritans only appears once in the OT, in II Kings 17:29, where it is used for these newcomers, who persisted in their pagan ways. However, the majority of the population was constituted by Israelites who had not been deported and who continued their Israelite faith. The beliefs bought by the newcomers did not survive and no paganism is found in later Samaritan theology.
Some scholars say that we can ignore the Samaritans because they corrupted the name and were Babylonian gentiles and were foreigners but not all of the Samaritans were foreign as some were Israelites and we have to examine all the evidence out there for credible witnesses. Note the Samaritans pronounced the name as Yahweh or Yah. I believe this was Yah-u-weh since the OO sound has been omitted due to Greek spellings.
[7]In a Papri recovered from Egypt we also see the form Yahu the first three characters of the name with Yud, Heh, and Wav יהוּ, why so we can see that the form Yah-oo is entirely valid that is why when I said earlier it has an aspirated sound such as Yah-u-weh so when you say it fast it is pronounced Yahuweh with a very short oo sound in the middle. The form Yah and Yahu were interchangeable but when this name was translated into the Greek by people like Origen this form was lost. Origen translated the sacred name in the 3rd century CE and called it Yahay. The old Ethiopian Apocrypha writings recorded by the French historian Basset retain this sound of Yahoue so we know that the correct pronunciation is Yahuweh not Yahuwah or Yehoowah. However I do not suggest it is wrong to say it that way.
Christians around the middle-ages translated the Hebrew word Yahuweh to Jehovah by reading in the vowel points that were there, remember these were people who did not know Hebrew and its use of vowels and consonants. This is why the name Jehovah is carried over to liturgy but this name is an impossible reading when we look at the Hebrew lettering. This word Jehovah is a mistranslation and an error that needs to left behind like the series.
Dictionary of the Bible by James Hastings says this;
The pronouncement of Jehovah has no authority at all and appeared in late mediaeval times; it is an attempt to vocalise the Tetragrammaton using the vowels written under it by the scribes. Which vowels however were never intended to be combined with the four consonants of the word.
Remember that these are not just four consonants but 4 vowels.
In the preface of The Bible. An American Translation by Smith-Goodspeed (1931) we read;
In the course of time they (the Yahudim) came to regard this name as too sacred for utterance. They therefore substituted for it the Hebrew word for ‘Lord’. When vowels were added to the text, the consonants of ‘Yahuweh ’ were given vowels of ‘Lord’. Somewhere in the fourteenth century AD Christian scholars not understanding this usage took the vowels and consonants exactly as they were written and produced the artificial name ‘Jehovah’ which has persisted ever since.
Is the term Jehovah or Yehovah or Yahoowah/Yahuwah an accurate translation of the word for Elohim’s name?
The Bottom line
We have transliteration of the sacred name in the ancient cuneiform script with written vowels of this language. In other words we can with absolute certainty pronounce the sacred name correctly. In 1898 A. H.Sayce transliterated three cuneiform tablets dating back to Hamurrabi that clearly said "Jahweh is God."[1], Hammurabi was the 6th king in the period 1792-1750 BC
[1]See Halley’s Bible Handbook, p. 62
In addition the cuneiform inscriptions known as the Murashu texts dating back to about 400 BCE leave no room for any further debate give it away that the term Yahuweh is correct and even the term Yahushua is absolutely accurate. This means the Masorets change is a late change and thus we go back to the older evidence and we can get an accurate transliteration of the name. Remember my comment about the Masorets of being converts this cannot be understated. Israel’s ancient scribes did not do this. Put it this way I know people also call YHWH as Yahuwah, that to me is no problem as I just see this as a variant.
Put it this way if instead of calling my name Simon you called me Simeon I would probably not mind as it is a variant of Simon but this technicality remains that Simeon is not the correct pronunciation therefore I urge my readers and listeners to pronounce the name in its correct form as Yahuweh with the quick aspirated middle sound or simply as Yahuweh as that is the closest form possible. If someone tells you the meaning is lost then this type of lie has been spread by no other but people like the Jehovah Witnesses who have the most stake in to legitimise their cult. I have shown ample evidence that the name is known and should be used copiously in and out of liturgy to praise the name Yahuweh.
Now that I have gone through this you may wonder why I have not given you the meaning of the term YHWH. It depends which meaning you want. Do you want the ancient meaning, the middle Hebrew meaning or the modern meaning? I am going to discount two of the meanings and only give you the ancient meaning.
Are you ready to be shocked?
The above is the real ancient script in which the true sacred name was written. Although the name means breath in its simplest reference or “Breath of Life” as given in Genesis 2:7 but the ancient pictures gives an interesting meaning. The ancient pictures mean THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD and or THE LIGHT OF LIFE.
Now ask the question again did Yahushua declare that He is El’Shaddai or not?
Yahuchannan 8:12 Then spoke vSwhy again to them, saying, I am THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have THE LIGHT OF LIFE.
Some of us who sit at the feet of Yahushua have very different understanding from the mainstream scholars because we are the true Hebrews of old being resurrected back to our ancient faith.
Hellelu-Yah.
YHWH bless you
Shalom Shalom

Beyth Yahushua – Son of Tzadok, Son of Dawud
Would you like to know the identity of Yahushua's family? Did He have brothers and sisters, did He get married, are not Rabbis meant to marry, was Mary Magdalene His wife? All these answered in the book. Are you fed-up of hearing objections such as if you do not know who Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are then how can you claim to have the truth?
Do you feel frustrated to go to your Pastor only to be told he does not know?
What caused Rabbi Paulos to persecute perfectly normal Jewish men and women who simply practiced Judaism? Who was Nicodemus, what relationship did Yahushua have with Lazarus? Did Yahushua have relatives? For too long He has been portrayed as the wandering man with no belongings and no family and living wildly, picking up food from the trees, fields and women offering him handouts.
This picture is both misleading and deceptive. Do you want to know the powerful family of Yahushua, fill the gaps, who were Mark, Luke, Matthew and even John? What connection has Joseph of Arimathaea got with Yahushua and why would a rich man like him be willing to give his own expensive tomb for Yahushua’s burial?
Do rich men do such things, if so then why was the rich man in Matthew 19:21 unwilling to give away all his money? Did Yahushua carry the curse of Jeconiah (Jer 22:24-30)? The answer that Christendom gives is the curse lifted because of the virgin birth or the lineage switch. Did it? Answer NO. Christendom’s answers on this are wrong. What about the genealogy of Luke and Matthew why two fathers of Yahushua Heli or Jacob in Matthew 1:16 and Luke 3:23? Will the real father of Yahushua please stand up!
Who were the Hebrews, what is the West in Hosea 11:10?
Hos 11:10 (KJV)…then the children shall tremble from the west.
If we believe popular opinions then they are all in Europe and America but the reality is very different. This book is a wake up call to the last generations.
This book will give you new insights and the rich history of Yahushua.
